What are pixel ads?  Essentially, they are advertisements within a pre-defined grid matrix of about 1 million pixels where each pixel is a valuable piece of real estate.   Typically, an ad agency website charges around $1 per pixel with a mininum purchase of a 10 x 10 grid space.   This size is visible to the human eyes and anything smaller would render the ad utterly obscure. So how effective are these ads?   They're only as effective as the ranking of the hosting website.  Hence, the more traffic a website gets, the more pixels they could sell and of course the higher the click thru rate for the advertisers.
